Elbow have returned to the media limelight with details of a new album release for 2014 – the album which is currently untitled although thought to have the working title ‘All at Once’. It will be the Manchester band’s sixth studio album and follows the Mercury Music Prize nominated ‘Build a Rocket Boys!’ released in 2011. Singer Guy Garvey has suggested that the album will be dealing with the issues of mid-life crisis as the band all around the 40 year mark! The record has been part recorded at Elbow’s own studio in Manchester and at Peter Gabriel’s studio – Real World near Bath.
The album will be released on March 3rd 2014 and the band have also announced their first live dates for a year too, they will be playing a short arena tour in early April 2014, calling at Birmingham, Glasgow, Cardiff, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Nottingham and London. Elbow have yet to have a number one UK album with ‘Build a Rocket Boys!’ getting to number two – which is a peak for the band. They have not released any of the songs from the forthcoming record so to placate your lust for the latest sounds, we include one of our favourite elbow tracks below, ‘On a Day Like This’ – enjoy!
